Hosted PBX Solutions
With a virtual PBX you don't
need to invest capital in a PBX system or maintain it. Simply
buy the extensions you need and pay a monthly fee for unlimited
calling and PBX features.
Why a Hosted PBX?
A traditional PBX system requires
special wiring, special training and lots of capital expense
budget. In a few years, you may have to junk it and get a bigger
one. More CAPEX, more training, more grief.
Why not let someone else provide as little
or as much PBX system as you need when you need it? VoIP technology
now makes it possible to have a remotely hosted PBX system with
no special telephone wiring at all. The phones connect to your
network and Internet service just like adding another PC to the
LAN. All you have to do is buy the phones (you need phones anyway)
along with adaptors to connect them to your network. Then pay
a small bundled rate for unlimited local and long distance service
plus those special PBX features.
What Features Can You Get With Hosted
PBX?
The Packet8 Virtual Office has features and benefits typical
of what you'd expect in an in-house PBX system, plus some others
you couldn't get before. Here is a summary:
For Each Phone: Caller ID, and Call Waiting ID, call transfers,
automatic call forwarding, 3-way conferencing, call park and
pickup, DND (do not disturb), distinctive ringing, stutter tone
notification, ring groups, music or message on hold, voice mail,
3 digit extension to extension dialing, 7 digit local dialing,
DID (direct inward dialing) for each extension.
Auto-Attendant: Automated system that replaces the need for a
receptionist. Dial by extension or by name, company directory
and ring groups are all included features.
Unlimited Calling: local and long distance calls in the USA or Canada
are included in the bundled rate. Dial only 3-digits to call
your extensions anywhere in the world at no extra cost. Calls
to other Packet8 subscribers anywhere at no extra cost. Receive
calls from any telephone of any type worldwide.
Conference Bridge: An audio conferencing system that lets you include
up to 20 participants, extensions or outside lines.
Voicemail via Email: Be notified by email of pending voice mails or
have them sent as audio file attachments. Voicemail may be forwarded.
Online, Real-time Monthly Billing
Statement: Call logs for all
your direct inward dial numbers.
Switchboard Software: (optional) PC based
receptionist console allows multiple call viewing and handling
with status of all extensions visible.
Virtual Phone Numbers: (optional) Secondary numbers that ring through
to a primary extension or auto-attendant. Assign to particular
area codes so that callers in those areas pay no long distance
charges. Can be added to conferences or set up for outgoing announcements
only.
How Much Does All of This Cost?
With this IP based Hosted PBX system, you order only the extensions
you need, with a minimum of 3. You also pay a monthly fee that
might be less that you pay now for a local loop and long distance
charges. There is a small extra charge for the switchboard software,
virtual numbers and toll-free numbers.
The best way to calculate your costs is
to use the "Virtual Office Quote Tool." Enter the number
of extensions that you need and then compare the one-time equipment
fees and monthly service fee with what you pay now.
Note: Be sure to include ALL of your current
telecom costs, including equipment, special wiring, outside contractors
for installation, maintenance and programming, local loops, long
distance charges, calls to your offices overseas, and any features
you pay extra fees for.
